Economic Survey Reveals Farmers' Concerns Are Right

The Economic Survey, presented in January, 2021 that reads like a political defence of the Modi Government, has little hope to offer the tonnes of workers and marginal farmers reeling under the influence of the pandemic.

The life-threatening experiences of crores of migrant workers, hundreds of whom did lose their lives, stranded without any help because of the arbitrary manner of the imposition of the lockdown within barely a day of its announcement, is airbrushed out of the Survey. This illustrates why the credibility gap between what the government claims and what the reality is will not be reduced by the survey.

The hype of the projected V-shaped recovery. A -7.7% contraction in FY 2021, followed by an estimated 11% growth over this in FY 2022, "the highest since independence." Assuming the estimates turn out to be correct, it actually delivers an overall growth of just 2.45% in these two years taken together.

Moreover, "Growth" is seen as the remedy for all the ills of the economy without any regard for a scrutiny of the path of that growth. It states: "Economic growth has a far greater impact on poverty alleviation than inequality... redistribution is only feasible in a developing country if the size of the economic pie grows." It is precisely this self-serving argument that the largest mass mobilisations of workers and farmers have described as "pro-corporate."

Inequalities in India are ridiculous. According to Oxfam's recently-released report, "In January, the richest 1% hold more than four-times the wealth held by 953 million people who make up for the bottom 70% of the country's population, while the total wealth of all Indian billionaires is more than the full-year budget."

There is nothing "natural" about this huge accretion of wealth by the few, including through a set of policies like the generosity in waiving off corporate loans, giving huge subsidies to corporates, and bringing down the effective tax rates through a slew of exemptions, especially for some sectors such as petroleum products and power sectors in which the effective tax rate is calculated to be just 20-21%.

To propagate that popping inequalities will not help poverty alleviation is a justification for not taxing the super-rich, who, even in this period of pandemic, have shown in several sectors an increase in profits. Instead, the Survey makes it clear enough that the government is going to continue policies which, in the name of "growing the economic pie", actually promote corporate interests on the basis of the failed and discredited "trickle down" theories that if the rich get richer through government policy largesse, some of it will trickle down to the poor.

This has not happened in India. The high unemployment rates show the false influence of the demographic dividend once again repeated in the Survey. As is known, though not admitted in the Survey, India was already in recession when the pandemic struck.

Zohnerism Syndrome - a notorious concept that affects us everyday

Why we need to Avoid watching too much of breaking news & panel discussions on Indian TV news channels now a  days!? Because, they all follow Zohnerism!!!

What is this notorious concept of Zohnerism?

Zohnerism - is all about twisting of simple facts to confuse people!

In 1997, 14-year-old Nathan Zohner presented his science fair project to his classmates, seeking to ban a highly toxic chemical from its everyday use.

The chemical in question? Dihydrogen monoxide.

Throughout his presentation, Zohner provided his audience scientifically correct evidence as to why this chemical should be banned.

He explained that dihydrogen monoxide:
  • Causes severe burns while it's in gas form.
  • Corrodes and rusts metal.
  • Kills countless amounts of people annually.
  • Is commonly found in tumors, acid rain etc.
  • Causes excessive urination and bloating if consumed.
  • Zohner also noted that the chemical is able to kill you if you depend on it and then experience an extended withdrawal.

He then asked his classmates if they actually wanted to ban dihydrogen monoxide.

And so, 43 out of the 50 children present voted to ban this clearly toxic chemical.

However, this chemical isn't typically considered toxic at all.

In fact, dihydrogen monoxide is simply H2O, which is nothing but water.

Nathan Zohner's experiment wasn't a legitimate attempt to ban water, but instead an experiment to get a representation of how gullible people can really be.

Also, all of the points that Zohner used to convey his point were 100% factually correct; he just skewed all of the information in his favour by omitting certain facts.

In recognition of his experiment, journalist James K. Glassman coined the term "Zohnerism" to refer to "the use of a true fact to lead a scientifically and mathematically ignorant public to a false conclusion".

And this occurs a lot more often than you think, especially when politicians, conspiracy theorists, etc., use proven facts to persuade people into believing false claims.

The fact that people can mislead, and be misled so easily, is highly unsettling.

The True Narrative

Don't worry

Prakash Purab: Guru Gobind Singh - greatest saint warrior ever

History will act as evidence if it has a parallel to epitome of sacrifice Guru Gobind Singh.

There cannot be another 9-year-old son who inspires his father to sacrifice himself for cause of Kashmiri Brahmins.

There cannot be another father who sacrifices his 4 sons and then says, "In putran ke sees par vaar diye sut chaar. Char muae to kya hua Jiwat kai hazar." What if I have sacrificed 4 sons my thousands of sons are alive.

There cannot be a warrior like Guru Gobind Singh who instructed his soldiers never to fight anyone who is unarmed, respect women, children and elderly and never to attack anyone behind his back.

His arrows used to bear little gold as He said I have no personal enormity with anyone I have to fight those who are supporting the tyrants so the gold is meant for their decent last rites.

He was a philosopher far ahead of his times.

He was a great writer whose literary writings like Choupayi Sahib will remain immortal.

Bhai Nandlal ji has described Him as

 MUQBAL-O MAQBOOL GURU GOBIND SINGH

WAASIL-O MAUSOOL GURU GOBIND

Only 8% live more than 65 years of age 😊

Hats off to whoever has compiled this data! Read and understand how lucky we are!! 👇🏼

The current population of Earth is around 7.8 billion.
For most people, it is a large figure, that is all.

However, someone has condensed the 7.8 billion in the world into 100 persons,
and then into various percentage statistics.
The resulting analysis is relatively much easier to comprehend.

Out of every 100 people:

11 are in Europe
5 are in North America
9 are in South America
15 are in Africa
60 are in Asia

49 live in the countryside
51 live in towns/ cities

77 have their own houses
23 have no place to live.

21 are over-nourished
63 can eat full
15 are under-nourished
1 ate the last meal, but did not make it to the next meal.

The daily cost of living for 48 is less than US$2.

87 have clean drinking water
13 either lack clean drinking water or have access to a water source that is polluted.

75 have mobile phones
25 do not.

30 have internet access
70 do not have conditions to go online

7 received university education
93 did not attend college.

83 can read
17 are illiterate.

33 are Christians
22 are Muslims
14 are Hindus
7 are Buddhists
12 are other religions
12 have no religious beliefs.

26 live less than 14 years
66 died between 15 - 64 years of age
8 are over 65 years old.

If you have your own home,
Eat full meals and drink clean water,
Have a mobile phone,
Can surf the internet, and
have gone to college,
You are in the miniscule privileged lot.
(in the less than 7% category)

Amongst 100 persons in the world, only 8 can live or exceed the age of 65.

"If you are over 65 years old. Be content and grateful.  Cherish life, grasp the moment."

You did not leave this world before the age of 64 years like the 92 persons who have gone before you. You are already the blessed amongst mankind.

Take good care of your own health because nobody cares more than you yourself!
Cherish every moment.😊

Bitcoin: Beyond The Bubble | Bitcoin Documentary | Cryptocurrencies | Crypto News | Blockchain

With the advent of Bitcoin, the world's premier digital currency, for the first time in history money is no longer controlled by banks or governments, but by the people who use it. But where did this currency come from? How does it work? And is it truly the way forward, or just a flash in the pan?

A typical comment: Money has never been the problem, the greed of mankind will always find a way to corrupt it no matter what form it takes, until you raise human consciousness to a level of understanding the harm we do to one another, the planet and the resources that belong to all of us equally just to get material crap most of us don't actually need our problems will go on. Bitcoin is not the answer, a higher human consciousness is.
With the advent of Bitcoin, the world's premier digital currency, for the first time in history money is no longer controlled by banks or governments, but by the people who use it.

Inside Iceland's Massive Bitcoin Mine

Created by a shadowy, mysterious figure – or perhaps group – going by the name of Satoshi Nakamoto, bitcoin is one of a number of cryptocurrencies that are created via computer processes which use raw mathematics and sheer computational horsepower to underwrite the value of transactions. As opposed to conventional monetary systems, which are backed by central banks, cryptocurrencies rely on the mathematical certitude of a decentralized ledger, known as a blockchain.

About a decade ago the first proper ‘real world’ bitcoin transaction took place, when one Laszlo Hanyecz infamously purchased two hot and  juicy Papa John’s pizzas for 10,000 bitcoins. Those 10,000 coins were only worth, at the time, around $40. Delicious as the pizzas no doubt were, if he’d only kept hold of those bitcoins they’d by now be worth somewhere north of 280 million dollars.

Why has a chilly island in the north Atlantic become a crucial frontier in the occult, high-stakes world of crypto currency mining? An unremarkable looking cluster of sheds on the western cluster of the Nordic nation might just hold the answer. So join us today as we follow the money and take a peek inside Iceland’s insane bitcoin super mine.

NHS in Danger - Covid-19: Rapid tests for asymptomatic people to be rolled out

Gold & Dollar: How Money Became Worthless

Wall Street is being occupied. Europe is collapsing in on itself. Around the world, people are consumed by fear and anger, and one question is on everyone's lips: Is the financial crisis over, or are we headed towards economic disaster? End of the Road is a documentary that chronicles the global financial collapse. Told in an entertaining and easy to follow style, the film tells the story of how the world came to be in such a state, from the seeds sown after WW2, to the current troubles facing us today, and to the possible future that may await us all. Some of the world's top economic minds share the hidden tale behind the mishandling of the world's finances, give insight into how bad policy and a flawed monetary system joined together to create a catastrophe, as well as sharing their own personal advice on how the average person can best prepare for their financial future.

It was interesting. Currency is so abstract and this and the '08 free fall illustrates just how convoluted it's become. I'm not sure 'ponzi scheme' is the best analogy for the global finance situation we're in. A single investment scheme and world markets regulated or controlled by governments are very different beasts. Every recession or depression brings inflation. Only time will tell how much. I'm skeptical about the insistence that gold is still the most real money. I'm no expert but it seems we've moved too far beyond that. I just wonder with the CEO of a gold selling website going on and on about it, that there's a conflict of interest and they may be inflating things to drum up gold sales. If I had money to save I might consider some gold just in case, to diversify. But if you have a gold bar and the economy completely tanks, I don't think there's much good that bar will do. It's not going to buy food
