BBC: How to save your weakening Immune System?

The CoVID-19 epidemic has made people aware of their health. People have realized this very well that it is important to have better immunity for a healthy life. This complex network is the weapon that keeps our body safe from diseases and infections. Like any other part of the body, the immune system also weakens from year to year. Which simply means that the probability of our falling ill increases. The chances of us getting infected increases.

India Govt. says: "It's time to start wearing masks inside homes to prevent Covid-19"

In what can be seen as an admission of a major spread in Covid-19 infection and a note of caution for the people, the government on Monday said the time has now come to wear a mask even at home.

Addressing a press briefing on India's Covid-19 situation, Dr VK Paul, Member (Health), Niti Aayog, said this is the time to be at home, wear a mask and not invite people. He added that people should also avoid stepping out of their home unnecessarily.

"If there is Covid-19 positive case in the family, it is very important that the person wears a mask even indoors because the virus can spread to others in the home. I would rather go on to say that the time has come that we start wearing mask at home even otherwise," Dr VK Paul said.

When sharing common spaces inside a household, people should wear masks, avoid areas with poor ventilation, and wash their hands properly, in view of the more infectious second wave of the coronavirus.

BBC: Research suggests that Corona may be prevented by a cold influenza virus

Some scientists say that the common cold-cold virus can eject the corona virus from the human body. There are some viruses that fight other viruses to infect the human body. The common cold-cold virus is also similar. Scientists at the University of Glasgow say that it seems that the rhino virus responsible for colds and colds can defeat the corona virus. Scientists also said that even though the benefit of rhino virus may remain for a while, it spreads in the human body so much that it can help reduce the effect of corona virus.

Guru Granth Sahib is the central religious scripture of Sikhism, regarded by Sikhs as the final, sovereign and eternal living Guru following the lineage of the ten human gurus of the religion. The Adi Granth, its first rendition, was compiled by the fifth Guru, Guru Arjan Dev (1563–1606). Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth Sikh Guru, did not add any of his own hymns; however, he added all 115 hymns of Guru Tegh Bahadur, the ninth Sikh Guru, to the Adi Granth and affirmed the text as his successor. This second rendition became known as Guru Granth Sahib and is sometimes also referred to as Adi Granth.

BJP Leaders about the Corona Pandemic - compiled by The Wire

With remarks ranging from flippant and insensitive to downright dangerous, BJP leaders have led the pack on 'what not to say in the middle of a pandemic'.
Here's Seraj Ali's video report inspired by Jahnavi Sen's article for The Wire.

It has been 414 days since the World Health Organisation (WHO) first declared COVID-19 infections to be a pandemic and 389 days since Prime Minister Narendra Modi assured the country that "21 days" of lockdown was all that was needed to "win the war" against the coronavirus. In the interim, India has seen the number of active COVID-19 cases rise, then fall and now quickly rise again, as a severe second wave of infections spreads across the country.

India today has 1.93 million active COVID-19 cases, which is nearly double its active case load at the time of the first wave last year.

Time may have passed, but our leaders' understanding of how this virus spreads and what measures need to be taken to curb it does not seem to be benefitting from science, the experiences before them or even common sense. Making remarks ranging from flippant and insensitive to downright dangerous, Bharatiya Janata Party leaders have led the pack on 'what not to say in the middle of a pandemic'.

Here is a list of examples put together by The Wire of things BJP leaders have said over the last two months, but shouldn't have.

The issue of health and especially food and hygiene has suddenly come up quite a lot in the priority of the people. It is not that these things did not happen in the preference of the people before. Yes, it was definitely that food and hygiene was a matter of our way of life, in which preference and preference were given to the likes and dislikes. These days some people are worried about whether the disease of Covid-19 is spread by food and drink also?

Modi Leadership Style Main Reason for India's COVID Mishandling; He's a Megalomaniac — RamachandraGuha

In a hard-hitting and sharply critical interview, one of India's most highly regarded historians and widely read political commentators have said Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership style is the principal reason for India's mishandling of the present COVID crisis. Although Ram Guha also blames Modi's "sycophantic cabinet", the country's institutions, including the Supreme Court, which has let down the country and the yes-men officials and bureaucrats who Modi has surrounded himself with, he says the main blame and responsibility rests squarely on the Prime Minister's shoulders.

In a 30 minute interview with Karan Thapar for The Wire Ram Guha delivered a further sting in the tail when he asked the question 'can Modi change?' and 'will his personality allow that? ' and answered by saying Modi would have to become like Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray who has deliberately and successfully moved from the "fascist" positions espoused by his father, Bal Thackeray, to become more middle-of-the-road and politically mainstream.

Devashish wrote a post on his blog on April 21, 2021 stating, "When I took the round of my ward at 12.30 am he was maintaining spo2 of 95 percent on 12 litre Oxygen supply through NRBM mask so I was quite shocked when sister suddenly came running to inform me at 1.30 am that this patient X was having severe coughing. I was on the other side of the ward trying to explain another old man to wear his Oxygen mask snugly.

I immediately rushed to the scene and checked his oxygen saturation. It was 65 percent. He had removed his mask and was snorting on some pudiyas which strongly smelt of camphor and cinnamon. They were sent to him by his caring family members in a tiny little tiffin box."
