Starship's Third Flight Test Was a Step Towards a Rapidly Reusable Future

Starship was successfully launched from Starbase in Texas on March 14, 2024, at 8:25 a.m. CT. En route, the spacecraft achieved multiple significant firsts and milestones.

Starship became the first Starship to successfully complete its full-duration ascent burn when all six of its second stage Raptor engines fired up and sent the craft into its intended orbit. After that, Starship made its first-ever space entry, giving important information about vehicle control and heating during hypersonic reentry. Starlink terminals functioning on Starship enabled live views of ingress.

Every significant creative breakthrough made by SpaceX, including as Falcon, Dragon, and Starlink, has been built around this fast iterative development methodology.
