CBSE Changes Examination Pattern For 2024 Boards

A record of conversation with Dr. Sanyam Bhardwaj, the Controller of Examinations, with less than a week to go before the CBSE Board Exams 2024.

He claims that this action represents a change in learning from rote to competency-based. "As a result, we will be using competency-based questions in the question papers to evaluate the students' competencies. This implies that rather than focusing mostly on memorization, assessments will now evaluate students' abilities," says Dr. Bhardwaj.

He discussed the modifications made to the exam style this year, emphasizing the value of competency-based questions. "This year, in class 10, we will be introducing 50% competency-based questions, and in class 12, 40% competency-based questions," he elucidates.

Additionally, Dr. Bhardwaj suggested that students must concentrate on getting ready for issues that have to do with lifetime learning or are impacted by real-world situations. Thus, these inquiries would essentially pertain to lifelong learning or be grounded in everyday existence. According to the concepts covered in class, students are expected to respond to these questions," he stated.
