Renaming of Mughal Gardens Now!!

As part of the "Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav" festivities, the gardens at the President's official residence, Rashtrapati Bhavan, have been given a common name. Bulldozers were used to remove the outdated "Mughal Gardens" road sign and haul it away.

Deputy Press Secretary to the President Navika Gupta stated on January 29, 2023, "On the occasion of the commemoration of 75 years of Independence as Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, the President of India has given a common name to the Rashtrapati Bhavan gardens as Amrit Udyan.

The opposition parties encouraged the government to concentrate instead on creating jobs and lowering inflation, whilst the BJP said that the name destroys yet another symbol of colonialism.

Amrit Udyan, originally Mughal Gardens, which spans 15 acres, has frequently been referred to as the soul of the city.
