Delhi's Corona Situation: Not As Good As It Appears

A study of the coronavirus fight in Delhi, India suggests that there is both bad & good news (even if the reality is not quite as good as the Delhi government is depicting).

On July 27, 2020, the Delhi High Court asked the government why it is resorting to using antigen tests rather than the "gold standard" PCR Tests. Antigen Tests are globally known to be unreliable as they very often falsely report Covid-infected people to be Covid-free.

Indian Schoolgirls Discover Asteroid Moving toward Earth

Two Indian schoolgirls have discovered an asteroid which is slowly shifting its orbit and moving toward Earth.

Radhika Lakhani and Vaidehi Vekariya, both studying in 10th grade, were working on a school project when they discovered the asteroid, which they named HLV2514.

Asteroids are taken very seriously by NASA. Since this asteroid is changing its orbit it has become news.

Pupils could not celebrate the discovery, due to the pandemic.

Today's extract from Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji from Page #496

Our Entire Solar System Doesn't Exactly Orbit The Sun

It's common knowledge that the Sun is the centre of the Solar System. Around it, the planets orbit – along with a thick belt of asteroids, some meteor fields, and a handful of far-travelling comets.

But that's not the whole story.
"Instead, everything orbits the Solar System centre of mass," James O'Donoghue, a planetary scientist at the Japanese space agency, JAXA, recently explained on Twitter. "Even the Sun."
That centre of mass, called the barycenter, is the point of an object at which it can be balanced perfectly, with all its mass distributed evenly on all sides. In our Solar System, that point rarely lines up with the centre of the Sun.

NASA will soon try to fly a helicopter over Mars: "It really is like the Wright brothers' moment"

The 4-pound helicopter, Ingenuity, will travel to Mars clutching the rover's belly and, a few months after touchdown, attempt to fly solo. Once dropping onto the Martian surface, Ingenuity will start out like a baby bird, rising 10 feet into the planet's extremely thin atmosphere and flying forward up to 6 feet.

Set for liftoff this week, the newest rover is taking a helicopter along for an otherworldly test flight.

"It really is like the Wright brothers' moment," said project manager MiMi Aung. She has one month to squeeze in as many helicopter hops as possible before the rover moves on to more pressing geologic work. The future could see next-generation helicopters scouting out distant Martian territory for astronauts or even robots.
