Veteran actor Jagdeep 'Soorma Bhopali' of 'Sholay' passes away

The actor had starred in films like 'Ab Dilli Door Nahin', K. A. Abbas's 'Munna', Guru Dutt's 'Aar Paar', Bimal Roy's 'Do Bigha Zamin' and AVM's 'Hum Panchi Ek Dal Ke'. He has worked in more than 400 films in his whole career.

His real name was Syed Ishtiaq Ahmed Jafri and he is also the father of Bollywood actor Jaaved Jaaferi and TV director Naved Jaffrey.


 
Veteran actor Jagdeep, best known for his role in Amitabh Bachchan and Dharmendra starrer 'Sholay' as Soorma Bhopali has passed away. He was 81. The reason behind his demise is yet to be disclosed.

ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹਰੇਕ ਜੀਵ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹੀ ਹਰੇਕ ਦੀ ਜਾਤਿ ਪਾਤ ਹੈ। ਵਖੇਵਿਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਪੈ ਕੇ) ਇਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੁੱਛਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਕਿ (ਫਲਾਣੇ ਦੀ) ਜਾਤਿ ਕੇਹੜੀ ਹੈ ਕਿਸ ਕੁਲ ਵਿਚ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਜਨਮ ਹੋਇਆ। (ਪੁੱਛਣਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ) ਪੁੱਛੋ ਕਿ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਕਿਸ ਹਿਰਦੇ-ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਗਟ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ। ਜਾਤਿ ਪਾਤਿ ਤਾਂ ਜੀਵ ਦੀ ਉਹੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੋ ਜਿਹੇ ਜੀਵ ਕਰਮ ਕਮਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

 

हे नानक! (प्रभू हरेक जीव के अंदर मौजूद है, प्रभू ही हरेक की जाति-पाति है। भिन्नता में पड़ कर) ये नहीं पूछना चाहिए कि (फलाने की) जाति कौन सी है किस कुल में उसका जनम हुआ है। (पूछना है तो) पूछो कि सदा कायम रहने वाला परमात्मा किस हृदय-घर में प्रकट हुआ है। जाति-पाति तो जीव की वही है जिस तरह के जीव कर्म कमाता है।

ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਰੁੱਖੇ ਬਚਨ ਬੋਲਦਾ ਰਹੇ, ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਤਨ ਅਤੇ ਮਨ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਰੁੱਖੇ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ (ਭਾਵ, ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਉੱਡ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ) । ਰੁੱਖਾ ਬੋਲਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਰੁੱਖਾ ਹੀ ਮਸ਼ਹੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਲੋਕ ਭੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਰੁੱਖੇ ਬਚਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਯਾਦ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਰੁੱਖਾ (ਭਾਵ, ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਤੋਂ ਸੱਖਣਾ) ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ) ਦਰਗਾਹ ਤੋਂ ਰੱਦਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਉੱਤੇ ਥੁੱਕਾਂ ਪੈਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ (ਭਾਵ, ਫਿਟਕਾਰਾਂ ਪੈਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। (ਪ੍ਰੇਮ-ਹੀਣ) ਰੁੱਖੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਮੂਰਖ ਆਖਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਤੋਂ ਸੱਖਣੇ ਨੂੰ ਜੁੱਤੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਮਾਰ ਪੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ (ਭਾਵ, ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸਦਾ ਬੜੀ ਬੇਇੱਜ਼ਤੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ) ।

 

हे नानक! जो मनुष्य रूखे वचन बोलता रहे, तो उसका तन और मन दोनों रूखे हो जाते हैं (भाव, मनुष्य के अंदर से प्रेम खत्म हो जाता है)। रूखा बोलने वाला लोगों में रूखा ही मशहूर हो जाता है औरलोग भी उसे रूखे बचनों से सदा याद करते हैं। रूखा (भाव, प्रेम से वंचित) मनुष्य (प्रभू की) दरगाह में रद्द हो जाता है और उसके मुंह पर थूकें ही पड़ती हैं (भाव, धिक्कारें ही पड़ती हैं)। (प्रेम हीन) रूखे मनुष्य को मूर्ख कहना चाहिए, प्रेम से वंचित को जूतियों की मार पड़ती है (भाव, हर जगह उसकी सदा बेइज्जती होती है)।
