out of consideration for that much, we should be good and kind towards them. But countless people all over India don't think so, going by the numbers of abandoned old people taken in at old age homes. ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੇਰੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਦੀ ਨਿਗਾਹ ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਹੀ ਹੈ, ਕਿਸੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਥੋੜੀ ਹੈ ਕਿਸੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਬਹੁਤੀ ਹੈ। ਤੈਥੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ (ਤੇਰੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਦੀ ਨਿਗਾਹ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ) ਕੁਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ = ਇਹ ਸਮਝ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਪੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
हे प्रभू! तेरी मेहर की निगाह सब जीवों पर ही है। किसी पे थोड़ी किसी पे बहुती। तुझसे बाहर (तेरी मेहर की निगाह के बगैर) कुछ नहीं होता- ये समझ उस मनुष्य को होती है जो गुरू की शरण पड़ता है।

Giant ship blocking Suez canal partially refloated
Eight tug boats were attempting to free a 400m long container ship that ran aground in the Suez Canal, blocking vessels passing through one of the world’s most important waterways, the authority that runs the canal said.
A photo posted Tuesday, March 23, 2021 showed the Taiwan-owned MV Ever Given, a 400-metre- (1,300-foot-)long and 59-metre wide vessel, lodged sideways and impeding all traffic across the waterway as excavation trucks struggled to dig it out.

ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਧਰਮ, ਅਰਥ, ਕਾਮ, ਮੋਖ) ਚਾਰ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਦਾ ਲੋੜਵੰਦ ਹੋਵੇ, (ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ) ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਵਿਚ ਲੱਗੇ।ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਣਾ ਦੁੱਖ ਮਿਟਾਣਾ ਚਾਹੇ ਤਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਦਾ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਸਿਮਰੇ।ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਣੀ ਸੋਭਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੋਵੇ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਸਤਸੰਗ ਵਿਚ (ਰਹਿ ਕੇ) ਇਸ ਹਉਮੈ ਦਾ ਤਿਆਗ ਕਰੇ।ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ (ਦੇ ਗੇੜ) ਤੋਂ ਡਰਦਾ ਹੋਵੇ, ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਚਰਨੀਂ ਲੱਗੇ।ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! अगर कोई मनुष्य (धर्म, अर्थ, काम व मोक्ष) चार पदार्थों का अभिलाशी हो, (तो उसे चाहिए कि) गुरमुखों की सेवा में लगे।अगर कोई मनुष्य अपना दुख मिटाना चाहे तो प्रभू का नाम सदा हृदय में सिमरे।अगर कोई मनुष्य अपनी शोभा चाहता हो तो सत्संगि में (रह के) इस अहंकार का त्याग करे।अगर कोई मनुष्य जनम मरन के चक्कर से डरता हो, तो वह संतों की चरणीं लगे।हे नानक! Bank Unions Warn Centre Of Agitation

The United Forum of Bank Union (UFBU), an umbrella body of nine bank unions, called for a two-day nationwide strike on March 15 and 16 against the privatisation of public sector banks and retrograde banking reforms. Over 10 lakh bank employees and officers participated in the strike. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has assured that not all banks will be privatised and wherever it happens, the interest of the employees will be protected. Addressing the media amid a two-day nationwide bank strike called by nine unions against the proposed privatisation, she said, "The decision of privatization is a well thought out decision. We want banks to get more equity... We want banks to meet the aspirations of the country". She added, "Those banks which are likely to get privatised, the interest of every staff member will be protected. We have a small story to share with you from Kolkata, West Bengal, India. A few weeks ago, the BJP central government published an advertisement with an image of a lady next to PM #NarendraModi. The lady is quoted to say that she has benefitted from #PradhanMantriAwasYojana. When the anchor met her she had a different story to tell. She does not have her own house yet and, in fact, rents a room for Rs 500 a month. “This advertisement is wrong,” she says.

What probably gave them away was the 'clinking' noise from the bottles when the truck moved. They should've used a damping material like straws or sponges between bottles while stacking the load. Amateurs 😏
Nothing much clever. The transporters are regularly doing such modifications to their vehicles to carry extra load or even contraband. Some are even strengthening their suspension springs. What will happen to the engine and the road is another story.

Midlands filmmaker Billy Dosanjh celebrates 50 years of the Sikhs in his hometown of Smethwick, from their arrival in the late 1950s and early 60s to the present day. Using rare archive and the frank personal testimony of different generations of Smethwick's Sikhs, he explores the experiences of the changing traditions and the challenges to centuries old traditions - especially in love and marriage - that life in modern Britain brings.
Using rare and unseen archive Billy goes on a moving journey through space and time - from farm life in northern India to the searing heat of work in the steel factories of Britain's Black Country; from extreme rural poverty to the have-it-all consumer culture of today; from strict traditions to a world of tolerance and the modern permissive society.
Billy tells of the hostility and tough working conditions the first Sikhs experienced when they arrived in Smethwick. He shows the old customs that they tried to keep from their impoverished villages in the Punjab. Examining the challenges of the modern world and how their traditions have evolved, especially when it comes to love and marriage, Billy gives a personal insight to the world of his community, and the way its culture has adapted across the generations to the challenges of life in modern Britain.

Loneliest Road in America: a Must -Do Road Trip
Highway 50, through Northern Nevada, was named the loneliest road in America by Life Magazine. Since then, it has become an unofficial tourist attraction in the state and a fun road trip if you are looking to experience Nevada's raw beauty. This drive follows the old Pony Express route and the Lincoln Highway as it traverses across the state.
The videographer and his father set out to drive the route over 3 days; and here is their road trip that includes ghost towns, rail yards, ancient trees and haunted hotels.

(ਪਿਛਲੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ) ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੱਲੇ (ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੇ) ਚੰਗੇ ਸੰਸਕਾਰ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਗੁਰੂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਸੁਣਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸੁਣਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਸੁਣਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। (ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਜਿਸ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਥੋਂ ਹਰੇਕ ਕਿਸਮ ਦਾ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
(पिछले किए कर्मों के अनुसार) जिन के पल्ले (सिमरन के) उत्तम संस्कार हैं, उन्हें परमात्मा गुरू मिलाता है। गुरू उन्हें सिफत सालाह की बाणी सुनाता है, सदा स्थिर प्रभू का नाम सुनाता है, सिफत सालाह के शबद सुनाता है। (हे भाई!) जिस हृदय में गुरू का शबद बसता है, वहाँ से हरेक किस्म के दुख दूर हो जाते हैं।

The Golden Temple, Amritsar, India
Golden Temple is a gurdwara that is built around a man-made pool (sarovar) that was completed by the fourth Sikh Guru, Guru Ram Das in 1577. Sri Guru Arjan Dev ji, the fifth Guru of Sikhism, requested Sai Mir Mian Mohammed, a Muslim Pir of Lahore, to lay its foundation stone in 1589. In 1604, Sri Guru Arjan Dev ji placed a copy of the Adi Granth in Durbar Sahib. The Gurdwara was repeatedly rebuilt by the Sikhs after it became a target of persecution and was destroyed several times by the Mughal and invading Afghan armies. Founder of the Sikh Empire, Maharaja Ranjit Singh, rebuilt it in marble and copper in 1809, overlaid the sanctum with gold foil in 1830. This has led to the name the Golden Temple and "Har Mandir" meaning "Golden Temple" in Hindi and dialects of Punjabi, which was popularised by Hindu to Sikh converts during the Sikh Misls era, Sikh Empire era and British colonial India, where it became frequented by common Hindu priests as well leading to the 1904 building of the imitation Durgiana Temple.

ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਕਿਉਂ ਭੁੱਲ ਜਾਏ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈ?ਉਹ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਕਿਉਂ ਵਿਸਰ ਜਾਏ ਜੋ (ਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੇਟ ਦੀ) ਅੱਗ ਵਿਚ ਬਚਾ ਕੇ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ? Some people may perceive his as arrogant, however there is a difference between misbehaving and being bold.
It is kind of sad that such a brilliant IAS Officer has to spend time on issues about improving basic efficiencies, curbing corruption. If such petty things are taken care by the folks who are doing that job, he can focus on strategising on long-term goals of the city rather than wasting time on such tactical issues.
